<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13/">Xiaomi 13</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13-pro/">Xiaomi 13 Pro</a> have finally <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/27/xiaomi-13-pricing-malaysia/">gone on sale in Malaysia</a> across all Xiaomi online and offline retail stores nationwide. And the great cameras and performance that it has to offer, Xiaomi is also offering <a href="https://www.mi.com/my/service/support/xiaomi13seriesvip.html">exclusive VIP aftersales</a> services to Xiaomi 13 series buyers in the country, which includes an extended period of warranty, and a spare phone service.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="713" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi" class="wp-image-517303" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1-300x209.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1-768x535.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1-696x485.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1-603x420.jpg 603w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/xiaomi-13-pro-1024x713-1-100x70.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 13 series</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>For starters, all <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13/">Xiaomi 13</a> and 13 Pro devices purchased in Malaysia will have a warranty period of twenty-four months from the date of the first purchase of the device, as opposed to the standard 1-year warranty, given by competing flagship smartphones from other brands such as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s23-ultra/">Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-14-pro-max/">Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x90-pro-2/">Vivo X90 Pro</a>.</p>

<p>Xiaomi Malaysia offers a one-time screen replacement for free to buyers of the Xiaomi 13 series if they decide to send in their faulty Xiaomi 13 within 6 months from their first purchase date. If your Xiaomi 13 or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13-pro/">13 Pro</a> was damaged by causes not stated in the warranty, do not worry as your device is eligible for 1 out-of-warranty repair for free by Xiaomi Malaysia within 12 months after the first purchase date.</p>

<p>Hypothetically your <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13/">Xiaomi 13</a> series smartphone was indeed sent for repair at the Xiaomi authorised service centre, the VIP aftersales service offered for Xiaomi 13 buyers means that Xiaomi will lend you a spare phone upon request as Xiaomi repairs your Xiaomi 13. This is particularly for people who only use one phone for their daily driver. And it must be noted that as per Xiaomi’s Spare Phone Lending Agreement, users will have to return the spare phone back to Xiaomi after the smartphone repairs have been done. It should be noted that the spare phone service is only offered to customers within 24 months after their first purchase date.</p>

<p><br>Lastly, Xiaomi offers a dedicated shortcut for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13/">Xiaomi 13</a> owners to cut the queue when contacting Xiaomi Customer Service in Malaysia on 1800-18-0112 ( Monday to Friday 9am &#8211; 6pm).</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meizu </a>has just started taking advanced bookings for its upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu-20/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meizu 20</a> series of smartphones. However, this isn&#8217;t your typical reservation for a phone since it also offers a notable benefit. </p>

<p>According to the Chinese smartphone maker, prospective buyers that book the phone in advance will also receive an extended warranty period for their new Meizu 20 series smartphone. The brand plans on offering an impressive 36 month long warranty for buyers that book the smartphones right now. This 3 year long warranty will be available by making a booking/reservation that costs just 1 Yuan (0.15 US Dollars). In other words, the value offered from the booking cost is quite high.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="556" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2110869.png?x44794" alt="Meizu" class="wp-image-516951" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2110869.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2110869-300x278.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2110869-453x420.png 453w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure></div>

<p>Based on what we know so far, the brand is planning on keeping the booking period open starting from today (21st Feb 2023) to the 14th of March 2023. So for those interested, you can head to major e-commerce platforms in China like JD.com, Tmall, and others. With a 3 year long warranty period, this basically means that the company is providing warranty for the whole life cycle of this smartphone.</p>

<p>Around this 36 months warranty, the company is also offering its users an improved and expansive customer service since 2022. For those unaware, Meizu is a flagship grade handset that will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. An interesting new feature that the brand is introducing an IR blaster on this series as well. It is unclear when the Meizu 20 series will be unveiled, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

Yes, the device is in a frame alongside the company&#8217;s letter of refusal to honor the warranty.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-445722 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw.jpeg?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="1400" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw.jpeg 1400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-300x137.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-768x351.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-1024x468.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-696x318.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-1068x488.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-7EQ5d6NO4HQ8dsvsZimhgw-919x420.jpeg 919w" sizes="(max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px" /></p>
<p>According to <a href="https://lehtimaeki.medium.com/why-i-will-never-by-another-samsung-device-2237a40002a6" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Juhani Lehtimäki</a>&#8216;s blogpost, he &#8220;will never buy another Samsung device.&#8221; He had decided to purchase the new foldable smartphone after watching a video from a famous tech YouTuber <a class="yt-simple-endpoint style-scope yt-formatted-string" href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBJycsmduvYEL83R_U4JriQ">Marques Brownlee</a> who had reviewed the handset. Initially, Juhani was quite satisfied with the device, due to its unique design and form factor. However, it was quite costly and just after three months, disaster struck.</p>
<p>One day, he took out his phone from his pocket and noticed the middle of the display on top of the hinge turning black. Furthermore, the top half of the display had stopped responding to touch as well. This black part starting growing as well and soon, the display had completely failed. Lehtimäki claims that he never dropped the phone and took great care of it. So, he sent it for repairs since it was still in warranty thinking that foldable panels are still new and this might not be too out of the ordinary.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-445723 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA.png?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="489" height="631" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA.png 949w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA-232x300.png 232w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA-768x991.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA-793x1024.png 793w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA-696x898.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1-ND4ZdwwodIu-aa67rpp2OA-325x420.png 325w" sizes="(max-width: 489px) 100vw, 489px" /></p>
<p>But unfortunately for him, the South Korean tech giant said that his Galaxy Z Flip3 &#8220;could not be repaired under warranty. Based on the information you have provided, we have contacted our service partner to obtain more detailed information regarding the repair. During the technical inspection of your device, the technician was able to determine that in addition to the display, the frame is also broken and that this damage is due to a mechanical impact, such as a fall, bending or excessive pressure.&#8221;</p>
<p>To make matters worse, the company said that it would cost around 340 US Dollars to fix the display. So, Juhani decided that he would never pay a single penny to Samsung ever again and framed the broken phone along with the rejection mail to remind him of this forever.</p>

<p>The Indian smartphone maker has just launched a first of its kind offer that would offer warranty on the company&#8217;s official repairs. In other words, Lava customers can avail warranty on out of warranty products that have been repaired with new spare parts. So, even if one has to pay for the initial repairs for any handset that is out of warranty, if the new repaired components still faces issues then the user can avail a replacement free of cost.</p>
<p>This offer is applicable from any of the company&#8217;s service centers that number more than 800 in India. Through this move, the brand also aims to be the first smartphone manufacturer in the region to offer zero cost repairs despite going past its original warranty. Furthermore, the offer will cover both spare part costs along with the labor charges as well.</p>

Ahead of the launch, the company has been revealed details about the phones.</p>
<p>In the latest development, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pete-lau">Pete Lau</a>, CEO of OnePlus has confirmed that those who purchase the OnePlus 9 series smartphones will get two years of official warranty. It remains to be seen if this is limited to Chinese users or applicable globally.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-377135 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus 9 Series 2 Year Warranty" width="880" height="1173" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty.jpg 880w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OnePlus-9-2-Years-Warranty-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></p>
<p>This is quite an announcement given that most of the smartphones available in the market come with standard one year of warranty. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> decided to add additional year to it as it found that most users replace their flagship smartphone after two years.</p>
<p>As for the specifications, the OnePlus 9 5G is expected to come with a 6.5-inch FHD+ <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED</a> screen that offers a 120Hz refresh rate while the OnePlus 9 Pro 5G may feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED QHD+ screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, both the devices will come powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-888">Snapdragon 888</a> mobile platform, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The smartphones are expected to feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The report arrives after a study was conducted over major cities in the country.</p>
<p>According to the report, one in every four smartphones users in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Noida, and Ahmedabad visits a service center within just 6 months of purchase. In recent times, after sales service has also become increasingly important for brands and <a href="https://www.counterpointresearch.com/customers-in-india-spend-average-inr-2400-on-servicing-of-out-of-warranty-smartphones/?utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter2020wk49-a&amp;utm_source=Counterpoint+Research+Newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=a79a64f34a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_08_06_11_19_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_0c8d75a0f8-a79a64f34a-88263331" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>CounterpointResearch</em></a> has found one of the most common problems faced by Indian users and the average expenditure on fixing out of warranty smartphones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-288553 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Xiaomi-India-featured-700x405.jpg?x44794" alt="Indians" width="700" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Xiaomi-India-featured-700x405.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Xiaomi-India-featured-700x405-300x174.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Xiaomi-India-featured-700x405-696x403.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>Issues related to charging, software, sluggish/hanging operations, and display were few of the most common problems faced by Indian customers as per a survey. Furthermore, when these devices are out of warranty, the people usually end up spending an average of 2,400 INR. Interestingly, the survey also found that 8 out of the 10 people that visit service centers are satisfied with the after sales service.</p>

<p>As per Senior Analyst Pavel Naiya, &#8220;Due to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">COVID-19</a> pandemic, many after-sales service processes have been affected in India and abroad. Under these circumstances, leading brands have taken initiatives to digitize the service delivery process, reduce wait times and maintain contactless delivery.&#8221; The analyst further added that this resulted in &#8220;two-thirds of the respondents received their smartphones within a day while about half of the respondents said that the parts required for the service were available at the service center.&#8221;</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_206083" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-206083" style="width: 800px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-206083 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/OnePlus-Service-Centre.jpg?x44794" alt="Indians" width="800" height="585" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/OnePlus-Service-Centre.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/OnePlus-Service-Centre-300x219.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/OnePlus-Service-Centre-768x562.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-206083" class="wp-caption-text">A OnePlus Service Centres</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Other notable findings in the report included <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Oppo</a> being one of the fastest in terms of after sales services. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme</a> came in a close second with its turnaround time having 73 percent and 72 percent, respectively, of the customers receive their handsets back within a day. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Vivo</a> arrives third with 68 percent. On the other hand, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi</a> rated the highest on &#8220;explanation of the problem” and the solution. This translates to higher knowledge and soft skills of the customer support executives in comparison to other brands.</p>
