<p>Notifications are a double-edged sword. They make sure you don’t miss an important email or message but also bombard you with a lot of distracting and unwanted information. The latest <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11">Windows 11</a> Beta wants to help you tackle this. Microsoft is rolling out two new builds for Windows Insiders enrolled users in the Beta Channel. One of these builds, labeled 22631.1900, tests ways to minimize bothersome notifications from apps.</p>

<h2>Windows 11 Beta also boosts your Wi-Fi</h2>

<p>According to the official blog post, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/microsoft">Microsoft</a> is rolling out two beta builds— build 22631.1900 with new features rolling out and build 22621.1900 with new features off by default. The company notes that Insiders who got the build with new features turned off by default can check for updates and choose to install the update that will have features rolling out.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="759" height="427" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/windows-11-1.webp?x10805" alt="windows-11-1" class="wp-image-544997" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/windows-11-1.webp 759w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/windows-11-1-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/windows-11-1-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/windows-11-1-747x420.webp 747w" sizes="(max-width: 759px) 100vw, 759px" /></figure></div>

<p>The changelog of build 22631.1900 mentions that Windows is getting its notifications improved. It tests a new feature that minimizes distractions from notification toasts (small pop-up notifications that appear at the top of your screen). If you are not interacting with toasts from a particular app, the system will suggest that you turn off the toast banners for that app. This will stop the banners from appearing, but you will still be able to find the toasts in the notification center.</p>

<p>This feature has just started rolling out, so not all Insiders in the Beta Channel will see it right away. In addition, the build also boosts Wi-Fi by enhancing connection performance. Passpoint Wi-Fi networks will now support this improvement, and these types of networks will display a URL in Quick Settings to provide users with information about the venue or event.</p>

The new update is available for Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels, and along with the new build, the company has included a number of app updates.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-406090 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114.png?x10805" alt="Microsoft" width="800" height="638" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114.png 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114-300x239.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114-768x612.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114-696x555.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-114-527x420.png 527w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>With the new build, the American tech giant has also brings the design of the apps closer to the overall aesthetic of Windows 11. In other words, these updated apps use more rounded corners now as well. The Snipping Tools app is one of the first apps to receive this update, which the company had teased recently (Via <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/microsoft-rolls-out-new-snipping-tool-and-app-updates-for-windows-11/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>XDADevelopers</em></a>). Notably, the new Snipping Tool also includes some features from the classic Snipping Tool.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-406089 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116.png?x10805" alt="Microsoft" width="787" height="610" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116.png 787w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116-300x233.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116-768x595.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116-696x539.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Screenshot-116-542x420.png 542w" sizes="(max-width: 787px) 100vw, 787px" /></p>
<p>Similar to Snipping Tools, the brand even updated the Calculator app on Windows 11. Although, the changes in this app are less noticeable apart from the rounded corners for its buttons. Alongside Calculator, even the Mail and Calendar apps also saw a similar change on Windows 11. Again, the applications now also use rounded corners for most of their UI elements. Microsoft also plans on bringing such updates to other existing apps in its latest version of Windows operating system.</p>

The Redmond-based tech giant has now released the first beta version of the Windows 11 OS.</p>
<p>The Windows 11 Beta is available for those who are enrolled in Windows Insider Program. As per the company, the beta release is less volatile compared to the Dev build and is being validated by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/microsoft">Microsoft</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-396254 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets.jpg?x10805" alt="Windows 11" width="880" height="507" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets.jpg 880w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets-300x173.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets-768x442.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets-696x401.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Windows-11-Widgets-729x420.jpg 729w" sizes="(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px" /></p>
<p>To test out this new version of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows">Windows</a> you will need to have a computer that meets the compatibility requirements laid out by Microsoft. Those who have installed the Dev version can switch to the Beta version by going to Settings &gt; Windows Update &gt; Windows Insider Program and then clicking on Choose your Insider Settings.</p>
<p>Do note that while Beta releases are more stable than the Dev releases, they are still not stable versions and are likely to have bugs, crashes, and missing features. So, we would suggest not installing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-11">Windows 11</a> on your primary device yet.</p>
<p>Windows 11 operating system features a new user interface, including a centered Start menu and Taskbar <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/design">design</a>, rounded corners, new sounds, and much more. The preview version available misses some interesting features like in-box app experience and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/25/microsoft-windows-11-android-apps/">Android app support</a> but Microsoft adds that they will soon go into testing.</p>
