Yesterday, Xiaomi released a new teaser on Weibo which showed two ‘Jacks’. Many believed that this teaser was for the upcoming discount on the Xiaomi MiPad tablet. Looks like they were true indeed as the company officially revealed today, the discounted prices of its MiPad lineup.

Xiaomi has a big promotional event on April 8, wherein most of its products are being offered for discounted prices. Till now, the Xiaomi MiPad was the only product left out of the promotion which is why this move does not come as a surprise.

On April 8, the 16GB version of the Xiaomi MiPad will be available for sale for just 1299 Yuan which is much less than the original price tag of 1499 Yuan. The 64GB version will also get a price cut, from 1699 Yuan to 1499 Yuan. This will make the already cheap tablet, much more affordable to customers.

Xiaomi has announced that all of its products will go on sale on April 8 without any need for previous reservations.

–       64GB variant will cost 1699 Yuan (approximately RM 873).

MiPad was announced in May and has seen no delays in its launch. It runs on NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and has a 7.9-inch display with a resolution which is equal to Apple iPad mini. Apart from this, it has got a 2GB RAM and 16 or 64GB storage capacity. The MiPad supports a microSD card which has an expansion capacity up to 128GB. Xiaomi MiPad runs on a 6,700 mAh battery.

The MiPad is soon expected to be launched in Malaysia, Singapore and other countries of the world. However the company has not quoted any specific price and date for the global launch.

July 1^st sees the release of Xiaomi’s Mipad, which is the company’s attempt to break into the tablet industry. It is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and has a display of 2048 x 1536. As regards the OS, it is running a custom app known as MIUI on top of Android. It is rumoured that the Mipad is to be one of the first to contain the NVIDIA quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor, boasting 192-core graphics. Other than this impressive addition, there is 2GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing shooter, 802.11ac WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers and a 6700mAh battery.

So is this a good effort? Well when you consider that the price is only $240, the Mipad is excellent value for a reasonably well-equipped piece of kit so should prove popular even in such a competitive market. It is as yet uncertain if the Mipad is set for release outside of China however

In our impression, Android tablets were living a life neither too good nor too bad under Apple iPad’s shadow. iPad has been the pronoun of tablet computer for most of us. Xiaomi unveil the Mipad a few hours ago, it looks very like iPad mini. Here is our review about the new Android tablet: An iPad mini knock-off.

Although Xiaomi has achieved some success in Android’s phones, however, limited by the Android system, Xiaomi has not pushed any tablet products. But the new born Xiaomi Mipad gave new expectation to Android tablet market. Whether it can shake Apple’s governing position with its price and configuration? Well, may be.

Xiaomi Mipad use same 7.9inch retina screen as iPad mini 2, which is 2048×1536 pixels, the ppi is 326. The size is proved by Apple as the best screen size, which has been continued by Xiaomi.

With it in hand, you will not feel any strenuous , benefited by its 360g weight, it is portable. The rate of screen in front is similar to iPad mini, but if you don’t notice the Android’s classic 3 control buttons, you may think it is a iPad mini.

Surely there is a mi trademark on the top of its screen, besides the logo is the inconspicuous breathing light and 5MP OV camera.

Xiaomi Mipad is only 8.5 mm thick, which will give you good handle feeling.

Xiaomi Mipad’s back shell is anti-fingerprint and painted design, looks similar as Apple’s iPhone 5c. Colorful back shell is Xiaomi’s consistent tactics, there are blue, green, yellow, pink and white available, which makes it full of personality.

The back 8MP camera is 2.0 aperture design, you won’t be confused to tablet’s bad IQ anymore after experienced Xiaomi Mipad.

Tested by GFXbench 3.0, the GPU is 2 times as fast as Apple’s A7.

Surely, the score is amazing 41000, which is top of Android devices, but there was not Antutu installed in the show so we can not verify it.

Top hardware configuration is not enough to make Xiaomi rival iPad, the basic of Xiaomi is the growing MIUI system. We can experience that including calendar, player and photo album is designed to fit the big screen, Xiaomi can improve fast if there are enough 3rd party’s APPs.

Totally, the $240 price tag made Xiaomi Mipad is able to be succeed in the beginning, Xiaomi did a lot both in hardware and software, we may see if it can shake iPad’s position.

Xiaomi Mipad use highlighted painted back shell, anti-fingerprint technology, carrying Sharp/Youda OGS retina screen, 2048×1536 resolution, display accuration is 326 PPI, high brightness, high colour saturation and Corning gorilla  3rd generation touching screen.

Xiaomi Mipad is claimed as the first NVIDIA Tegra K1 tablet in the world, it is powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad core processor （2.2GHz A15 + A15 power saving cores）. The graphic processor performance is 2.3 times than Apple A7. The official sais Xiaomi tablet have fully overwhelmed Apple’s iPad mini2 after tested by Antutu, Geekbench 3、BaseMark OS2、3DMark Unlimited、GFXBench 3.0 texts.

It has high speed 2GB internal memory, 16GB/64GB flash memory and supporting external memory storage up to 128GB tf card.
Xiaomi Mipad use Sony 8MP stack camera and 5MP front OV camera. Front 5MP camera can get better resolution with a hi resolution screen. 80 degree super wide angle is fit for group photos and self snapshot. Both the front and back camera are equipped with 5P/F2.0 large aperture, which can receive more light.

Come to software, Xiaomi use the deeply custom MIUI system, with Xiaomi application store and Xiaomi Game center and Xiaomi developing platform, it hs 100 application and 400 games, and by the end of the year, it will have 1000 apps and 1000 games. There are 16000 books and more than 10000 hot movies played, which can be viewed offline after cached. It has WPS office assistant software, supporting edit normal document and  slides’ wireless play and share.

Will Xiaomi Mi3S been seen on the market at 15th , May? No matter whether or not, the test job was already began. Running score is already revealed, its interior code is possible called “Xiaomi Leo/W”. Same as its previous rumors, the phone will host a Qualcomm 801 MSM8974AC processor with 2.5 GHz frequency. Built it 3GB RAM + 16GB ROM, screen resolution remains 1080P display, the system is the newest Android 4.4.2.

Amazingly, strong configured Xiaomi Mi3S only scored 31432 on Antutu, which is obviously less than Qualcomm MSM8974AC, because those products with the same processor would normally score 35000 and above.
