Mediatek Powered New Android One Phone Leaked In A Revamped Metal Design

by Joe 10

Android One was Google’s way of bringing its own stock Android platform to low cost smartphones. The first generation Android One models were decent, but they were not good enough to capture the low end segment. Now, the next generation Android One smartphone has been leaked and there seems to be a number of essential upgrades made both to the design as well as specs.

Google reportedly has teamed up with the local Indian manufacturer, Lava Mobile for the new Lava Pixel V1 smartphone. From the leaked pictures we can see that the new Android One smartphone comes with a revamped metal design, thin borders and an overall premium feel. This new design looks much better than the old and cheap plastic look on the existing Android One devices.

In the specs department too, Lava Pixel V1 reportedly brings interesting upgrades. Under the hood, the phone will come with MT6753 octa-core 64-bit chip, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. There will be a 5.5-inch 720p display, 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing shooter. The battery is also expected to be pretty decent at 2650mAh capacity. Given that its the new Android One device, the Lava Pixel V1 runs on Android 5.1.2 Lollipop OS.

We can expect sometime later today.

8mp cam and 2650mah are a deal breaker. Anyway its not like we can purchase this one internationally.

yeah… a bit disappointing , but remember this is like the king of budget phones , streamlined for that … so devs HAVE to make cut backs somewhere …

btw , glad to see a gizchina user here 😀 , i was getting lonely :p

      • mf1gt3r

Gizmochina is also a very nice site. Our currencies value to dollar is quite bad now. I hope it changes soon. Else buying phones abroad will be impossible.

        • Muhammad Yasir

exactly … same here in Pakistan …
          1$ = 102 PKR

          • mf1gt3r

Hehe. $1 = N240. Last year it was $1 = N165. Things are really rough here.

          • Muhammad Yasir

we really REALLY need to step up in the world economy or risk whole countries going down under ,bankrupt or financially impotent in the world :.
