HTC’s most talked about phone these days – Butterfly 2 (Also known as J Butterfly HTL23) has been officially announced. The phone was launched by the popular carrier KDDI in Japan. Soon after the launch in japan, HTC announced that Butterfly 2 will also be available in other South Asian countries which include Taiwan, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

The phone will be available in these countries from 2nd September 2014.

The Butterfly 2 is based on Android 4.4 Kitkat and has got a 5.0 inch full HD display screen. It comes with a Snapdragon 801 SoC processor with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU. Butterfly 2 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 and 28mm lens which can support 1080p video recording. It has a dual LED flash as well. The front camera which is of 5 megapixels can be used to click awesome selfies. 2GB RAM along with an option of 16GB or 32GB storage space makes it a good phone. It also has a micro SD card slot.

Butterfly 2 runs on 2700mAh battery. For a better sound quality, this phones is fitted with HTC boom sound speakers. Another important thing about this phone is that it is water proof as well as dust resistant. HTC’s butterfly 2 weighs 15 gram and has a dimension of 145.4 x 70.2 x 9.99 mm.

HTC has not yet made any announcement to launch their Butterfly 2 phone in China. Let’s see if they plan to launch it in the coming days.
