The OPPO R9S was released in October 2016 alongside a bigger sibling called the R9S Plus. Both phones were released as upgrades to the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus. Initially available in just Black, Gold, and Rose Gold, OPPO has added two more color options: a red variant released in January and a new green variant released last week.
OPPO has released promotional images of the new color variant and they don’t look bad at all. The promo images show various Asian stars such as Singer/Actress Chen Qiao En (Joe Chen), Lin Yun, and Dong Li posing with the new phone.
OPPO says it has timed its launch of the green R9S to coincide with the beginning of spring. They have also decided to use young stars to advertise the new phone as a way to appeal to youths.

The new green OPPO R9S maintains the same design as the other color variants. The beautiful triple-line antenna design is still there, VOOC fast charge is available, and the display is still protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Reservations have already started on OPPO’s official site, Jingdong Mall, Lynx, and Suning. The first flash sale will take place on the 1st of April followed by another one on April 2.
