Sharp has recently unveiled the new S3 Android One smartphone in Japan. It is a rugged Android One mid-range phone that has arrived to replace the Sharp S2 Android One smartphone from last year.
Sharp S3 Android One Specifications and Features
The Sharp S3 Android One phone features a IPX5/8 waterproof, IP6X dustproof and military-grade shock resistant chassis that measures 144 x 71 x 8.5 and weighs 143 grams. It can be availed in four colors like Turquoise, Navy Black, White and Pink. Since the smartphone features thick bezels around the display, it is quite evident that the company has not focused on making Sharp S3 Android One an aesthetically pleasing device.
The S3 Android One is fitted with a 5-inch IGZO display by Sharp that offers Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 430 chipset powers the smartphone along with 3 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 32 GB and its expandable storage slot carries support for up to 256 GB microSD card.
The rear side of the phone features an LED enabled 13.1-megapixel camera that has been optimized to capture good photos in low light conditions. It has a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. One of the major gripes of this smartphone is that it lacks a fingerprint reader.
The Sharp S3 is fueled by a 2,700mAh battery that offers 4G LTE talk time of 1,319 minutes and 4G LTE standby time of 605 hours. It takes around 155 minutes to completely charge it. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS. For connectivity, the Sharp S3 Android One offers features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB-C.
