Goodix Technology, a well-known company in the world of biometric and human interface technologies has confirmed the acquiring of CommSolid at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo that is currently going on in Barcelona, Spain. Also, the company has also showcased its second-generation optical under-display fingerprint technology.

CommSolid is known for providing ultra-low baseband solutions. Now that it has been acquired, Goodix can be used for accelerating the development of differentiating chipsets that are aimed towards the loT market. The team of CommSolid has good experience in low power wireless solutions. By making use of them, Goodix will be providing its worldwide clients and developers with very low power solutions for the cellular IoT market.

Goodix has dubbed its second-generation optical in-screen fingerprint solution for mobile devices as Innovative Biometric Solutions for Display. The company had showcased the first-generation product at MWC 2017 last year. The second-generation in-screen fingerprint sensor comes with improved performance. The company aims to begin its mass production in this year. The company has also showcased the technology at its booth at MWC 2018.
