Just a few days after the launch of the P20 series in Paris, Huawei has returned to China to take the wraps of the new Enjoy 8 smartphone.
The Enjoy 8 is a much more affordable smartphone compared to the three phones Huawei launched this week but that difference in price also means a significant difference in features.
Huawei Enjoy 8 Design
The Huawei Enjoy 8 comes in two different designs. Of the four color variants announced, three of them have a smooth non-reflective finish while the fourth has a design similar to that of the Honor 9. Surprisingly, they all have the same price tag.
The front of the phone wears a new look too compared to the Enjoy 7. It now sports a larger display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is covered in 2.5D glass.
The Huawei Enjoy 8 has a 5.99” 1440 x 720 display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 425 of the Enjoy 7. It is available in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB variants.
There are now dual cameras on the rear. One is a 13MP sensor and the other is a 2MP sensor for capturing depth of field details. The front camera is an 8MP sensor with soft light.
The Enjoy 8 has a triple card slot which lets you use two nano SIMs and a MicroSD card (256GB max) at the same time. There is Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB port for connectivity. It also has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and support for face unlock.
Under its hood is a 3000mAh battery and it runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Price and Availability
The Huawei Enjoy 8 comes in gold, black, blue, and pink but only the first three are available at the moment. The 3GB RAM version is priced at ¥1299 (~$206) while the 4GB RAM variant is ¥1499 (~$238).
It goes on sale today and the first 100 buyers get a free tripod selfie stick alongside the free wired earphones every buyer gets. It is available on Vmall.com.
