A new Xiaomi phone labelled as “Xiaomi StRaKz” has appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform. The specs of the phone that have surfaced through the Geekbench listing suggests it could be yet another budget phone from the company.

The Geekbench listing of the Xiaomi Strakz has revealed that it is yet another phone from the company that is driven by the Snapdragon 625 SoC. Xiaomi has used the same chipset to power smartphones like Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4 Prime, Mi Max 2, Mi A1 and Mi 5X.

The SD625 SoC on the Xiaomi Strakz phone is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It is preinstalled with Android 8.1.0 Oreo. In single-core test, the Strakz phone has scored 902 points and in multi-core test, it has recorded a score of 1536 points. Even though 4 GB RAM is seen assisting the SoC, the benchmark scores are quite low. Also, the base frequency of the Snapdragon 625 is mentioned 0 MHz for Strakz phone. This could be because of the system software bug.

The SD625 is a power-efficient SoC and it has been recently used to power budget-friendly smartphones. There is a possibility that the Strakz phone could be the Redmi 6 phone or it could be some other phone from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has set a target of achieving shipments of 100 million units this year. In India, it has already dethroned Samsung by capturing the market for mid-range phones. This year too, Xiaomi’s mid-range phones are expected to significantly the company to meet its shipments target.
