Tomorrow’s announcement could be related to the Mi 7 in the sense that the company may have decided to confirm its release date or something similar. Rumored release date is said to be May 31 and, the Mi 8 should not be the only product to debut in China on that day. According to reports, we will also see the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 as Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed that there will be a variety of new products announced at the end of this month. Xiaomi Mi 8 is rumored to come with its own 3D facial recognition system which will rival Face ID found on the iPhone X.

It is expected to be equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC by Qualcomm running at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz. The chipset should be paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage with high transfer speeds. Xiaomi Mi 7 will probably have a bezel-less design with a wide aspect ratio, and it should come with a dual camera setup just like its predecessor and the recently-announced Mi Mix 2S.
