HMD Global was supposed to launch the Nokia X5 today at 8:00 PM in China. Few hours before the launch, HMD Global declared through its official Weibo account that the launch of the Nokia X5 has been delayed. The company has not revealed the precise reason behind the cancellation of X5’s launch. HMD Global’s Weibo posts states that the product launch has been delayed because of the issues related to the venue of the conference.

Nokia X5 launch delayed

HMD Global is yet to confirm on the new launch date for the Nokia X5. Probably, the company may release a new statement on the arrival of the X5 in the near future. Just as the Nokia X6 is expected to be available outside of China as Nokia 6.1 Plus, rumors have the Nokia X5 will be coming first to China and then it is likely to hit the global markets with Nokia 5.1 Plus moniker.

The rumor mill has already revealed that the Nokia X5 will be arriving with a notched display like the Nokia X6. It features a 5.86-inch IPS LCD display that supports 19::9 aspect ratio. The Helio P60 is expected to be present under the hood of the smartphone.

The Nokia X5 is likely to arrive to arrive with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of storage. The handset will also include a microSD card slot. It will be fueled by 3,000mAh battery and it will be shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. For photography, it is pegged to feature 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup and 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

A leaked poster that had appeared earlier today had revealed that the Nokia X5 will be carrying a price tag of 799 Yuan (~$120). This seems to be the pricing of the starting variant of the Nokia X5 that may feature 3 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32 GB. Its 64 GB storage variant is expected to carry a price tag of 999 Yuan (~$150).
