TVs seem to be the new hot thing that all the smartphone companies want in on right now. Honor made a big splash into the market with their Honor Vision. OnePlus is currently in the process of making their own smart TV. Now, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is hoping to enter the TV market very soon.

Earlier today, Li Xiaoshuang, General Manager of Xiaomi’s TV segment shared a note about the upcoming Redmi TV on Weibo. He mentioned “Xiaomi TV has a strong team, and has outstanding performance in terms of image quality, sound effects, and systems. It will take time to reach the level of Xiaomi TV”. He also added, “I found that the friends are quite powerful and should pay attention to it.”

Before this, the Redmi TV had already appeared with the product code “L70M5” on China’s National Quality Certification Center listing. The product certification was issued on July 19th under the name TPV Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. On top of this, the TV also acquired 3C certification not too long ago.

Meanwhile, it is rumored that Redmi TV will be available in two sizes – 40 inches and 70 inches models and both TVs will be equipped with 4K UHD resolution. It will directly compete with Huawei’s Honor Smart TV and OnePlus Smart TV. We expect Redmi TV will be announced in the month of September or early this year.
