HTC had a couple of months back announced that it was exiting the Indian market but the company made a U-turn with the launch of the HTC Wildfire X last week. The Wildfire X was scheduled to go on sale this week. Indeed, HTC India has now announced the device will go on sale in India today starting at noon local time. HTC Wildfire X is an affordable smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. The chipset is paired with 3GB of RAM which also has 32GB of internal storage. There is also a 4GB + 128GB memory variant. The device sports a sleek design that doesn’t even pass for a budget device.

The display is a 6.2-inch HD+ screen with a waterdrop notch at the top. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. For optics, there is ana8MP selfie camera at the front, housed inside the notch. At the rear, the device packs a triple camera setup comprising a 12MP main, 8MP telephoto (2x optical zoom), and 5MP depth sensor units. There is a 3300mAh battery under the hood.

As for the pricing, the HTC Wildfire X is priced at INR10,999 ($155) for the 3GB+32GB variant while the 4GB+128GB variant is priced at INR13,999 ($195). The sales will open today with an INR 1000 price cut but the models will revert to their RRP after today. The phone comes in Sapphire Blue color.
