At the Huawei P40 series launch event, the company also released a new version of its mobile software called EMUI 10.1. It comes pre-installed on the new devices, however, several old devices are also guaranteed to receive them. The first batch of handsets has already received a closed beta build. Now, the second batch of devices such as Huawei Nova 5 series and Honor 20S are getting a similar treatment.

Huawei Nova 5 Series Honor 20S EMUI 10.1 Closed Beta

The second batch of devices that are currently receiving EMUI 10.1 closed beta is as listed below.

Since EMUI on Honor devices is known as MagicUI, the Honor 20S is actually receiving MagicUI 3.1, which is nothing but a rebranded EMUI 10.1.

Huawei released EMUI 10 based on Android 10 soon after Google officially released the latter. The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro were the first devices to come with this software out of the box late last year.

Then in late March 2020, Huawei unveiled the P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus with EMUI 10.1 on board. The new iteration of EMUI brings Huawei’s own AI voice assistant called Celia, new multi-window functionality, MeeTime video calling app, new AODs, and more.
