Xiaomi smartphones including Redmi and POCO run MIUI Android skin. In fact, the company started its journey with MIUI and not smartphones. Over the years, the firm’s mobile software has evolved with new features and functionalities based on hardware.

MIUI One-handed mode Full screen gestures

Back when large-screen phones were becoming the norm, the brand introduced “One-handed mode”. But with the elimination of capacitive keys, the mode became limited to when on-screen keys are used. However, the MIUI team has now confirmed to bring support for this mode even on “Full screen gestures”.

Earlier today, the official MIUI Weibo account shared a picture with some important questions asked by users in a Q&A section with MIUI team held yesterday (similar to the one before the launch of MIUI 12). During the interaction, one user questioned the availability of “One-handed mode” while using “Full screen gestures” (pictured above).

To this, one of the two people from the MIUI team who participated in the Q&A session replied that they already have plans for it but the development for the same is yet to be scheduled. That said, when the feature gets implemented, we can expect it to first appear in MIUI 12 Beta builds.

In late April, Xiaomi announced MIUI 12 marking the 10th anniversary of the company’s existence as well its official Android skin. Since the day of the conference, the firm has been rolling out beta, stable beta, stable updates to eligible devices.

In addition to that, it has also been adding new features like partial screenshot and various modes for exposure shots. It is also working on “AI Shutter”, a feature similar to “Top Shot” on Google Pixels and “Paper” Reading Mode.
