OnePlus released a total of six smartphones this year. Out of this, three are high-end offerings, two budget devices, and a mid-range phone. But the company has only promised three years of software support for only four devices. Now, the brand has also published end of software support dates for three of these four smartphones.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus kicked off 2020 by launching the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in April. These handsets were followed by the company’s first-ever mid-range phone – OnePlus Nord in July.

Further, the brand released OnePlus 8T in October as its high-end device for the second of 2020. Then, came the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 in November as Oneplus’ first budget handsets.

Now, in December, the company has revealed the end of software support dates for the first three phones on the official ‘OnePlus Security Updates’ page (via PiunikaWeb). Let us take a look at these dates.

  • OnePlus 8 – April 2023
  • OnePlus 8 Pro – April 2023
  • OnePlus Nord – July 2023

As you can see from the above list, the software support for OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and Oneplus Nord will end exactly three years from their launch.

The former two models will be getting three Android updates. They have already received one Android update in the form of OxygenOS 11 (Android 11). On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord is said to get only two Android updates and it is yet to receive any.

Having said that, though OnePlus has not revealed the software support end date for OnePlus 8T, we believe that to happen in October 2023. Because just its siblings, it is also eligible for three years of support.

However, the software support for OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus N100 is expected to end by November 2022 itself since the brand has only promised two years of support and a single Android update for these handsets.
