In early January, Vivo shared an official Android 11 rollout plan for India. Accordingly, it has been rolling out updates to various devices lately. The recent ones to get it are the Vivo S1 and Vivo V15 Pro. Now, the Vivo Y19, which isn’t on the list, has started getting the Android 11 update.

An OTA update with firmware version rev 6.73.6 is rolling out to the users of Vivo Y19 in India. The update, which weighs about 3.2GB brings the Funtouch OS 11 based on Android 11 OS to the device.
If you recall, the Vivo Y19 launched back in November 2019 in India with FunTouch OS 9.2 UI based Android 9 Pie. The device later got the Android 10 update and is currently running on the software version PD1934F_EX_A_1.70.12.
The latest update will bump the OS to Android 11 features to the Vivo Y19 and if you aren’t familiar with what you are getting, you can read our coverage on the same. That said, this could be the last update for the Vivo Y19 but we appreciate the company for bringing two generations of upgrades.

Vivo, which has recently signed cricketer Virat Kohli as its ambassador, has no plans of bringing OriginOS from China to other markets yet. This plan might change in the future but looks like the global devices are going to stick to the Funtouch OS 11.
Anyway, the update for Vivo Y19 has also optimized issues like home screen editing and display functions. So, if you are in India and own a Vivo Y19, we suggest you update the device ASAP.
Vivo’s plan for April 2021 includes devices like the Vivo S1 Pro, Vivo Z1 Pro, Vivo Z1x. Let’s wait and see when the company will start rolling out the updates.
