POCO UI is coming

POCO started as a sub-brand of Xiaomi but is now an “independent” brand. Its phones run a slightly tweaked version of MIUI out of the box but that may change soon as the company plans to launch its own UI which will be called POCO UI. It will still be an off-shoot of MIUI but with more features exclusive to POCO devices. POCO has also revealed it has no intention to launch an Android One phone.

A new Redmi Note 8?

The Redmi Note 8 was a pretty popular device, selling more than 10 million units. According to new info that surfaced last week, it appears Redmi plans to launch a new version of the phone with new specs. This new version has been seen at the FCC and is expected to launch as the Redmi Note 8 (2021). It is also expected to have a high refresh rate display, a MediaTek chipset, and a 4000mAh battery.

Xiaomi announced a new pair of TWS earbuds last week and it comes with a new naming scheme. Unlike its other wireless earbuds that are sold under the Mi True Wireless line, this new one arrives as the FlipBuds Pro and it is one of its most premium ones yet.

MediaTek unveils the Dimensity 900

MediaTek has a new chipset. The Dimensity 900 is a 6nm processor with Cortex-A78 cores and Cortex-A55 cores. The 5G chipset will power mid-range 5G devices from various manufacturers including OPPO, Vivo, and Redmi.

 

First look at Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

The DualSense 5 controller for the PlayStation 5 now comes in two new colors, bringing the available color options to three. The new colors are Midnight Black and Cosmic Red and are scheduled to go on sale next month.
