A couple of days back, Motorola teased the Edge X smartphone in the Chinese market hinting at an imminent launch. Rumours are also rife for another Edge series smartphone dubbed the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. Now, leaks reveal that the Edge 30 Ultra won’t actually be a new device rather it may be a rebadged model of China’s Edge X smartphone. In addition, 91Mobiles in collaboration with OnLeaks has shared 5k renders of the device.

The Motorola Edge X a.k.a the Edge 30 Ultra sports a modern design. The device has a large 6.6-inch flat display with a punch-hole cut-out at the top. It seems to have thin bezels all around the edges and may have a 144Hz screen refresh rate. The screen is touted to be an OLED panel with HDR10+ support.

As for the cameras, the smartphone boasts a triple camera system placed vertically at the rear. It is said to be a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP secondary lens, and lastly a 2MP tertiary lens. Upfront, it has a 60MP selfie snapper.

The device has a Motorola branding at the back but it does not double up as a fingerprint scanner. Rather, Motorola seems to have employed an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone has a USB Type-C port at the bottom and a speaker grille beside it. It has a power button on the right side and a volume rocker on the left. Unfortunately, the phone does not seem to have a 3.5mm headphone jack, as per the renders.

Apart from this, what’s inside will be a new SoC – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset. It will be paired with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone will pack a 5,000mAh battery and is expected to have fast charging support.
