We first heard about Xiaomi Ingres at the end of August. A month later in September, certain details about the phone emerged. Two months from that, a report now says that this handset will be sold under three names worldwide.

Redmi K40 Pro

According to a report by Xiaomiui, the upcoming Xiaomi Ingres bears shortened model number L11. This model number was recently tipped to belong to the Redmi K50 series.

The smartphone has now appeared in the IMEI database with three different model numbers confirming multiple regional variants and brandings. At present, it has the following model numbers.

Xiaomi Ingres (L11) Model Numbers

  • 22011211C – China
  • 22011211G – Global
  • 22011211I – India

The listings say that in China, the device will be released under the Redmi brand. Whereas, in India, it will sport Xiaomi branding. Elsewhere, it will be a POCO smartphone.

Previous findings from MIUI code have revealed that the handset will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm SM8450 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1). Hence, Xiaomiui suggests that this phone could be called Redmi K50 Pro in China, Xiaomi 12X Pro in India, and POCO F4 Pro in other parts of the world.

Further, the device is said to sport a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP OmniVision OV64B primary sensor, an ultrawide unit, and a macro snapper. It is expected to feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, however, a reliable tipster Digital Chat Station hinted at an in-display fingerprint sensor not long ago.

As far as the launch timeline is concerned, the smartphone is anticipated to debut in January 2022, as per the first four digits of its model numbers. Lastly, although the MIUI development for the handset began in August 2021, there’s a chance it might hit the market with MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
