The Google Pixel 6 series has been plagued with a number of issues since its launch. Now, the flagship lineup is suffering from another new problem, but this time, the issue lies with the display.

The news arrives from various Pixel owners that have shared their complaints on Reddit and the company’s support forum (via AndroidPolice). Reportedly, owners of the Search Engine giant’s Pixel 6 series have found that cracks have appeared on the front glass of both the base and Pro models. This issue is not entirely new either as early reports are a couple of months old as well. With the Pixel 6 Pro featuring a curved display, it is apparently more prone to suffer from this odd issue.

Notably, both variants feature a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back. So, its even more odd that the toughest glass for phones in the market is facing this problem. The cracks first begin appearing on either one of the sides or the corners of the Pixel 6 series’ display, and unfortunately, using a screen protector does not appear to help negate this issue or make it less likely at all. For those unaware, spontaneous screen issues are not unheard off and have been seen before as well.

Although, this usually implies that the smartphone is suffering from a slight manufacturing defect. To put things simply, the small defect can cause pressure to build up in the display that eventually cracks up and possibly even split apart. Significant variations in temperatures also tend to cause this issue as well. However, the exact reasoning for the cracks are still unknown, but thankfully, only a small number of devices are facing this problem at the moment. Google has acknowledged this issue and has confirmed that it is investigating it as well. So stay tuned for more updates.
