Samsung has a track record of hosting Galaxy Unpacked events to launch its next-generation flagship smartphones and the South Korean giant will do the same for the upcoming Galaxy S22-series devices.

While the date for the Galaxy Unpacked event has not been revealed, the company has confirmed that there will indeed be a new Galaxy Unpacked event next month, i.e. February 2022.

TM Roh confirms Galaxy Unpacked in February 2022

TM Roh, the President and Head of MX Business for Samsung Electronics has published a blog post and shared a teaser video. The upcoming phones have also been teased as Roh promises that the “most noteworthy S series devices” will be unveiled at the next month’s Unpacked event. He also adds that “the next generation of Galaxy S is here, bringing together the greatest experiences of our Samsung Galaxy into one ultimate device.”

Although the company has not announced the launch date for the upcoming Galaxy S22-series smartphones, multiple reports have indicated that the Galaxy Unpacked event will be hosted on 8th February while the device will be available for purchase by 24th February.

There will be three smartphones in the S22 lineup — Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra. Since the South Korean giant has discontinued the Note-series phones, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to be a spiritual successor of the Galaxy Note20.

The top-end offering in the upcoming lineup, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature a 6.8-inch Dynamic 2X AMOLED display that offers a Quad HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1,750 nits brightness.

Under the hood, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or the newly announced Exynos 2200 chipset, depending on the region of availability. It will pack up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The phone will come preinstalled with One UI 4 based on the Android 12 operating system. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and have 45W fast charging support. There will also be a dedicated slot for the S Pen stylus.
