The ColorOS 12.1 update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro brings software features that were introduced on the OnePlus 10 Pro and the OPPO Find X5 Pro

According to the official update changelog, OnePlus’ last-gen flagship smartphones get access to features like HyperBoost gaming technology and LinkBoost 3.0 network optimizations.

The latest software release also comes with support for floating windows in split-screen mode, up to three windows in PC Connect, and clipboard access control. The devices also get more customization options for Omojis and a full-screen translation feature in Smart Sidebar.

Like any other OTA system update, this one is also being seeded in batches. Therefore, some units may receive it earlier, while others will will getting it later. In the end, every unit should be updated to the fresh software build in the coming days.

Unfortunately, Oneplus hasn’t disclosed when the international variants of the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro will be upgraded to OxygenOS 12.1. That said, even when the update arrives, don’t expect all the aforementioned features as most of them seem to be exclusive to ColorOS in China.
