Rumors for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series have been increasing lately. As per leaks, we expect this year’s Watch 5 lineup to have three models – Watch 5, Watch 5 Classic, and Watch 5 Pro. However, a new report from SamMobile reveals that the company will scrap the Classic model.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic were great smartwatches targeted at two different sets of audiences. The Watch 4 was more appealing to the younger crowd of the group, while the Watch 4 Classic was for the users on the other side of the spectrum. Now, unfortunately, the Classic is moving out from Samsung’s portfolio to give space to the Pro model.

So this year, we’ll only see the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. We know that the Pro will come in only one size, which will be bigger than the vanilla Watch 5. The vanilla Watch 5 is expected to have two dial sizes – 40mm and 44mm. There’s no confirmation if there will be a rotatable bezel on the forthcoming watches.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will carry the model number SM-R925 and have a big 572mAh battery as opposed to the 361mh cell present inside the Galaxy Watch 4. The vanilla Watch 5 with a 40mm dial is expected to pack a smaller 276mAh cell, whereas, the 44mm version will get a 361mAh cell.

Apart from the battery, a recent report revealed that the Watch 5 series will have a circular OLED display and will come with features like GPS and a heart rate monitor. The Watch is also expected to come with a body composition sensor, the same as the Galaxy Watch 4. Both the Watch 5 models will boot on One UI Watch on top of Wear OS 3.
