Xiaomi has quietly launched a new set-top box dubbed Mi Box 4S MAX in China. The Xiaomi Mi Box 4S MAX is positioned as a 4K flagship smart voice set-top box which happens to be the flagship model of the fourth-generation Mi TV Box 4 that was launched in 2018. The set-top box comes with an affordable price tag of 499 yuan (~$75) and is presently listed on Jingdong (JD.com) but the e-commerce giant is yet to start taking orders.
In terms of configuration, the Mi Box 4S MAX is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic S905X3 processor. The chip pairs with 4GB of RAM while there is 64GB of storage onboard, making it a perfect fit for storing your pictures and videos. The TV box also comes with an HDMI 2.1 interface, supports 4K/8K image quality output and dynamic HDR. It also supports 8K hard decoding, Dolby & DTS sound effects, dual-band Wi-Fi, wireless casting and more.
The flagship TV Box comes with MIUI for TV pre-installed bringing support for the MIJIA app, XiaoAI voice prompt and Bluetooth voice remote control. You can also watch movies from your phones , hard disk or USB flash drive. The device also allows the installation of games and other apps just like most TV boxes.
