Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max

The Max variant is one of the best TV boxes out there because it has an amazing hardware department. While most companies are shipping their set-top boxes with up to 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Thanks to this hardware, you can install a lot of apps and you can run a lot of apps in the background without experiencing lags and important limitations.

The chipset is a quad-core from Amlogic composed of Cortex-A55 CPUs. The GPU is an ARM Mali G31 MP2, enough to handle 4K video streaming. The device is able to support 8K content as well, thanks to the presence of an HDMI 2.1 port. But the processor is likely to struggle with 8K content since the chipset does not have hardware-accelerated support for the AV1 video codec. However, thanks to the presence of 4 GB of RAM, the box should be able to handle multi-tasking and other similar activities which require high resources.

Other features include support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, and a USB 3.0 Type-A port. The box ships with a remote control featuring a microphone for voice controls. The Chinese version ships with MIUI for TV instead of Android TV. This operating system has limited support for popular video streaming services in the global market (such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube).

Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro

Coming to the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro, it is a lower-end model with a less impressive memory configuration but a more interesting price. With this version, Xiaomi expanded its offering of set-top boxes. This version comes with 8K video recording support, even though the user will experience the same limits as the Max variant. You get up to 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, not as much as the Max, but still a sufficient amount for most of the users.

The Pro variant has an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB Type-A port as well. It ships with remote supporting voice commands and Android TV. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic S905X chipset with four ARM Cortex A53 cores and Mali G31 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage as already mentioned. As for connectivity, it also features dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, and a USB 2.0 port, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a power input port.
