Last week, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Box 4S Max in China. It arrives with a new chipset paired with more storage and RAM. Hence, it was speculated to release in international markets as it sounds like a good upgrade over the Mi Box S/Mi Box 4K sold outside the home country. Unfortunately, it does not appear to be the case.
In a statement to Android Authority, the global wing of Xiaomi has confirmed that it has currently no plans to introduce the Xiaomi Box 4S Max to international markets. Perhaps, the company may debut the product later as the Mi Box that’s available in global markets right now also took time to reach global markets.
Talking about the features, the latest Xiaomi Box 4S Max comes powered by an Amlogic S905X3 chipset. The new chip not only supports 4K payback but also 8K decoding.
The main highlight of the product is its memory configuration. It features 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which is uncommon in the smart TV and streaming device category.
Connectivity options include WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, it boots MIUI for TV based on Android with support for XiaoAI virtual assistant and leading Chinese streaming apps.
Since the Xiaomi Box 4S Max runs software designed for China, it would be of little use if imported.
