Last week, Motorola launched the budget-friendly Moto G62 5G and the Moto G42 smartphones in Brazil. Now, the devices have made their way to Europe. So let’s take a look at what these devices have to offer.
Moto G62 5G specifications and features
Starting with the Motorola G62 5G, the device comes with a 6.5-inch IPS panel with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device has thick bezels and a punch hole in the center for the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the G62 comes with a snapdragon 480 Plus chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The storage of the device can be expanded using a MicroSD card (up to 1TB). It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 20W fast charging.
For optics, the smartphone comes with a triple camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 118-degree FOV and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front, the device has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Other than that, the device has an operating system based on Android 12 and comes with a fingerprint scanner. It offers other features like a dual-SIM slot, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, and dual stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos support.
Moto G42 specifications and features
The Moto G42 comes with a 6.4-inch g-OLED display offering a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 60Hz refresh rate. It has noticeable bezels, a thick chin, and a centered punch-hole for the front camera.
Under the hood, the G42 comes with the Snapdragon 680 4G chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded by up to 1TB using a TF card. The device operates on Android 12 and has a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
Coming to optics, the G42 has a triple camera setup headlined by 50-megapixel primary sensor. It is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 118-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front, the device has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Other features of the device include face unlock, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and Dolby Atmos-powered dual stereo speakers. Connectivity options offered on the smartphone include a dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Moto G62 5G & Moto G42 pricing
Both the Moto G62 5G and the Moto G42 have been priced pretty close to each other. The Moto G62 5G starts at €249.99 whereas the Moto G42 has a starting price of €209.99.
