The Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable flagship shares identity with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 as Samsung‘s latest foldable phone. Samsung is underlying the reliability credentials of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in terms of its foldable display. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is water-resistant and has a rating of 200,000 folds. However, a new folding test result shows that the Z Flip 3 garnered a massive 418,503 folds. This result goes to the heart of an excellent hinge mechanism still lacking in several current foldable phones.
The extreme folding test for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was carried out by YouTube user Mrkeybrd. He sought to test the reliability of the device via a test that lasted from June 8 to June 13. In a live event, the Polish YouTuber folded the smartphone multiple times until it collapsed. This happened after a cycle of 418,593 folds. The device subsequently failed to stay open or closed.
Mrkeybrd also undertook a drop test for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 after the folding test. He also tested the water resistance rating of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 by dipping it in water. The durability test results for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 underscore its rating as a leading foldable globally.
From the test, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 can undergo up to 352,000 folds unscathed. The result is indicative of the ruggedness of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and will be comforting to its users. The result means that the device can last up to 7 years on an average of 150 folds daily.
