Sharp Electronics has unveiled a new 65-inch mini LED TV in China. The Sharp AQUOS XLED F8 offers a 4K resolution with a 120Hz display refresh rate. The AQUOS XLED F8 is priced at RMB 16,999 ($2,500) and is only available in China for now.
The Sharp AQUOS XLED F8 mini LED TV offers 1,800 nits of peak brightness and 2,160 local dimming zones. The XLED technology deployed in the XLED F8 is a bridge between IPS and OLED panels. XLED combines the best of both technologies to deliver an optimal offering with better contrasts and dimming capabilities.
The Sharp AQUOS XLED F8 could be suited for gaming applications. However, Sharp has not provided details on some aspects of the TV. We are in the dark as to the response times and viewing angles available for the AQUOS XLED F8. Fast response times are especially key in using the TV as a gaming monitor.
Sharp was silent on the global availability (and possibly pricing) for the AQUOS XLED F8. There are also gaps in the actual delivery date for the TV. Finally, it bears reiterating that much is still not known about the Sharp AQUOS XLED F8. Subsequent details are expected from Sharp Electronics.
