Nokia’s parent company, HMD Global, has partnered with Shikhar Dhawan Foundation to distribute smart devices among underprivileged students of Delhi NCR for the promotion and support of e-learning.

The first drive of device distribution on 19th September 2022, was held at NeeV Learning Centre, Village Nangli Umarpur, Gurugram, in the presence of Shikhar Dhawan (Cricketer and Founder, Shikhar Dhawan Foundation) and Sanmeet Singh Kochhar (Vice President- INDIA and MENA, HMD Global), as well as key leaders of both the organizations. Nokia mobile phones and tablets worth 35 Lakhs were distributed in the first drive of this initiative, reads the press release.

This CSR initiative is a part of HMD Global & Shikhar Dhawan Foundation’s collective efforts to promote e-learning among underprivileged students in India who cannot afford such devices.

“Without access to proper smartphone mobiles devices & internet, school-going underprivileged students are the ones who are suffering the most,” said Shikhar Dhawan. “With this problem in mind, our team has been working towards the same to address the issue, and I congratulate my team for taking this initiative up, which is very close to my heart,” Dhawan added.
