BYD’s F brand set to release an off-road SUV with advanced hybrid technology

Chinese automaker BYD has been making headlines with its highly anticipated F brand. Recently, spy photos of the F brand’s first model, code-named “SF,” were exposed on the internet. The new model is expected to be a hardcore off-road SUV with a new hybrid power system that provides a battery life of over 1,200 kilometers.

Despite being covered in a new style of camouflage, the outline of the vehicle suggests that it is the same model previously leaked. The F brand’s first model will feature a non-load-bearing body structure, which will enhance its off-road performance. It will be almost 5 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 2.8 meters and a large ground clearance.

The vehicle’s design includes front and rear bumper designs that are integrated with the design of off-road climbing scenes, and it will be equipped with front and rear differential locks, a center lock, and a non-load-bearing structure to ensure its leapfrog passability. The F brand will operate independently of BYD’s existing brands and will be positioned between “Tengshi” and “Looking Up.” The brand’s product lineup will include sports cars, off-road SUVs, and coupes, among other segments.

The first model, which will focus on the off-road field, is expected to have overall performance comparable to that of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and will cost between 400,000 to 600,000 yuan. BYD has been a leader in the production of electric vehicles, and the introduction of the F brand shows the company’s commitment to diversifying its product lineup.

The F brand is set to become a new brand matrix alongside BYD brands like Dynasty and Ocean, Tengshi brand, and look-up brand. With its focus on personalized and professional vehicles, the F brand is expected to cater to the growing needs of consumers and provide them with high-quality, performance-driven vehicles. The F brand and its first model are set to be released later this year, and the industry is eagerly awaiting their debut.
