PC company Acer is making inroads into the electric bike market with the development of the ebii e-bike. The Acer ebii is a lightweight e-bike designed for cities and comes with AI features that can learn the rider’s personal preferences. The ebii can also automatically change gears depending on the road conditions for an optimal urban trip.

The Acer ebii weighs just 35 pounds and it is lighter than most e-bikes. It can reach a maximum assist speed of about 32km/h (20mph) and a range of about 113km (70 miles). The bike can be fully charged within 2.5 hours and interestingly, the power brick can also be used to charge your laptop or phone. The ebii has a companion app – the ebiiGO app which provides battery usage information, recommended routes, and speed checks. You can also lock and unlock the e-bike via the app. The bike will also auto-lock whenever the linked smartphone is not near the bike. There is also an anti-theft alarm on the ebii, as an added security feature.
The ebii’s advanced mechanism also includes collision detection sensors, airless tires, and lights in every direction. Release and pricing details for the Acer ebii have not yet been provided by the OEM. Acer expects to provide competitive pricing for the model as a new player in the market.
