Google is apparently working on a solution to deal with all the unwanted calls one has to deal with on a day to day basis. The company is working on a method to effectively deal with all spam or robocalls with the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence).
As of right now, the Search Engine tech giant already offers Call Screen feature on its Pixel series of smartphones to help deal with this issue but this only deals with the issue to a certain extent. However, it appears that Google is looking to build a more capable technology that will better help users avoid these spam/robocalls thanks to conversational AI. According to a new report, the Jonathan Eccles, the Group Product Manager of the Phone by Google app talked about how the brand wants to solve problems related to unwanted calls on the latest episode of the Made by Google Podcast.

The company is seeking to tackle this issue with conversational AI. He stated that “Multi-step, multi-turn conversational AI could open a lot of interesting doors in terms of creating this protective and helpful layer at the front of every incoming call.” The official further added that the group product manager has hinted that this feature might be arriving in some form or the other later this year.
The Call Screen feature on Pixel smartphones already use AI at the moment. Although, Google is likely looking to further improve this system with AI technology. Unfortunately, this is all the information available regarding this matter but we can expect to hear more about such a feature around the time of the Pixel 8 series launch.
