Amazon offers health-related services under the Halo brand, and the company has also launched a few products, including fitness trackers and sleep trackers, which are part of the company’s product lineup.

Now, the company has announced that it is shutting down Halo health services on 31st July this year, which means that all the Halo devices will stop working from 1st August.

These devices worked with a Halo subscription, which was a service to allow users to manage health-related data from the devices. The company has now taken down the pages for the Halo devices and subscriptions.

Amazon has said that users of Halo devices can access and download their data until 1st August; on that day, the company will erase everything from their servers. It has now stopped selling its three Halo products and plans to lay off portions of the Halo team.

The company has said that it will fully refund purchases made in the preceding 12 months of Amazon Halo View, Amazon Halo Band, Amazon Halo Rise, and Amazon Halo accessory bands. Additionally, any unused prepaid Halo subscription fees will also be refunded.

Amazon is advising Halo customers to recycle Halo devices and accessories through its recycling program and adds that the company will cover costs associated with shipping and recycling.

The first device in this lineup was launched in 2020 in the form of Halo Band. When the device was launched, its rivals like Fitbit, Samsung, and Apple had already started offering devices with more advanced features, including EKG and atrial fibrillation. It followed up with a couple of more devices, including the Halo View in 2021 and most recently launched Halo Rise, a contactless sleep tracker.
