iQOO is gearing up for the launch of the iQOO Neo 8 series smartphones in China. The series will feature two devices: iQOO Neo 8 and iQOO Neo 8 Pro. Both of these drives are expected to be performance monsters powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the Dimensity 9200+. Ahead of the launch, the iQOO Neo 8 5G has appeared on Geekbench with what looks like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Neo 8 5G, identified by the model number V2301A, will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC codenamed “taro,” indicating the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The listing reveals the clock speeds of the processor cores, with the prime core reaching a peak speed of 3.0GHz, three performance cores running at 2.5GHz, and four efficiency cores operating at 1.8GHz.

The variant listed on Geekbench boasts 16GB of RAM, suggesting that iQOO may also offer options with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Storage configurations could include 256GB or 512 GB. Additionally, the listing confirms that the Neo 8 5G will come with Android 13 pre-installed, accompanied by iQOO’s Origin OS 3 layer in China. In terms of performance, the device achieved scores of 1678 and 4345 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Additional details about the Neo 8 5G have emerged, providing further insights into its design and specifications. The upcoming smartphone will sport a curved rear panel, with the option of a vegan leather variant that comes in a striking red color. The back of the device will feature a rectangular camera module housing a triple-camera setup and an LED flash. The camera module text confirms that the main camera will have optical image stabilization (OIS) support.

The Neo 8 5G is expected to feature a sizable 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. While it is known that iQOO will introduce a 144Hz refresh rate display and a V1+ chip in the Neo 8 Pro variant, it is yet to be confirmed if the standard Neo 8 will have the same refresh rate support. For selfies, both models are likely to include a 16MP front camera. In terms of battery, the Neo 8 5G is expected to house a 5000mAh battery and support 120W fast charging, ensuring speedy charging times.
