In China, Honor has recently unveiled its 90 series smartphones, consisting of the Honor 90 and the Honor 90 Pro models. While we have previously discussed the details of the Pro variant, this report will focus on highlighting the features and specifications of the Honor 90.

Design & display

Design-wise, not much has changed compared to the previous generation. The back has a triple camera module housed on two circular camera islands. With dimensions measuring 161.9mm in length, 74.1mm in width, and a sleek 7.8mm thickness, the Honor 90 strikes a balance between a compact design and a comfortable grip. It weighs approximately 183 grams, ensuring portability without compromising on durability.

The device boasts a captivating 6.7-inch OLED display, delivering stunning visuals with a Full HD resolution of 2664×1200 pixels. With a screen aspect ratio of 19.98:9 and support for a true 1.07 billion colors and DCI-P3 wide color gamut, the Honor 90 provides an immersive and vibrant viewing experience. The screen is designed with rounded corners, and although the actual viewing area is slightly smaller, it doesn’t diminish the visual appeal.

Performance

Under the hood, the Honor 90 houses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core processor, offering powerful performance for smooth multitasking and efficient operations. The CPU comprises a combination of Cortex-A710 cores, with frequencies of 2.5GHz, 2.36GHz, and 1.8GHz, intelligently adjusting the operating frequency based on the application load. The device is equipped with an Adreno 644 GPU, ensuring smooth graphics rendering for gaming and multimedia experiences.

Honor

The Honor 90 runs on MagicOS 7.1, based on the latest Android 13, providing a user-friendly interface and access to a wide range of apps and features. It comes with generous storage options, including 16GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, or 16GB+512GB, enabling users to store their files, apps, and media without limitations.

Powering the Honor 90 is a 5000mAh Li-ion polymer battery, providing long-lasting usage throughout the day. The device supports wired fast charging, with a maximum super-fast charge of 11V/6A using the included Honor 66W Super Fast Charge Charger. The battery capacity is rated at 4900mAh, and the actual charging power adjusts intelligently based on different scenarios.

Camera

In terms of photography capabilities, the Honor 90 boasts a rear triple camera setup. The main camera features an impressive 200-megapixel ultra-clear outsole lens with an f/1.9 aperture, accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens (f/2.2 aperture) and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens (f/2.4 aperture). The rear camera supports a maximum of 4K (3840×2160) video recording with EIS video stabilization, and a variety of shooting modes such as AI photography, night scene mode, and professional photo and video options.

For selfie enthusiasts, the device offers a front-facing 50-megapixel portrait lens (f/2.4 aperture) capable of capturing stunning self-portraits with exceptional detail. The front camera also supports 4K video recording with EIS anti-shake and various shooting modes including dynamic photo, portrait mode, and time-lapse photography.

Pricing

The Honor 90 Standard Edition is available in three different configurations with varying storage options. The 12GB+256GB variant is priced at 2499 yuan, while the 16GB+256GB variant comes at a price of 2799 yuan. For those in need of even more storage space, the 16GB+512GB variant is available at a price of 2999 yuan.
