With most manufacturers having already launched their foldable smartphones, all eyes are now on the beloved Android brand OnePlus. The company has announced its plans to launch a folding device by the end of this year, without divulging many details, except for the usual marketing jargon, which includes the promise of a ‘signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. The OnePlus Fold could be near as a new report hints at a launch in August while revealing the target market and the event venue.

OnePlus Fold to be sold in multiple markets, including US and India

OnePlus has yet to disclose any substantial information about its foldable but a Pricebaba report is here with some interesting details. The outlet, citing tipster Yogesh Brar, claims the OnePlus Fold will be unveiled globally in the first half of August 2023. The company will apparently take the wraps off the smartphone in an in-person event held in New York.

The report also mentions that the OnePlus Fold will be sold globally in key markets, including India and the US. This obvious piece of information provides reassurance for foldable enthusiasts in the States. Currently, the North American market is dominated by Samsung’s Z Fold and Flip line, with Google trying to secure a small slice of the pie.

The OnePlus Fold has been rumored for a couple of years now, and we’ve seen numerous reports claiming it to be a rebranded Oppo Find N series device. The latest ones suggest that the device will be a rebadged Oppo Find N3, expected to launch in China in August. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing since Oppo’s foldables boast the best form factor, and the hinge used is also top-notch. Moreover, the company offers an intuitive software experience.

Details about the Oppo Find N3 are widely available. You may read one of our posts here.
