Redmi recently teased the upcoming arrival of the Redmi 12 smartphone to the Indian market. Now, the brand has officially revealed the launch date. According to a recent post through its official Indian Twitter handle, Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi 12 smartphone will launch on August 1 in India.
The smartphone brand has unveiled the design of the upcoming Redmi 12 for the Indian market, along with the announcement of the launch date. This indicates that the Indian variant of the Redmi 12 will be identical to the device recently released in other international markets. With this confirmation, we can make reasonable assumptions about the specifications of the device.
Redmi 12 specs
The Redmi 12 comes with a tall 6.79-inch IPS LCD panel featuring a Full HD+ resolution, 550 nits of peak brightness, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button.
Powering the device is a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance, and a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
Noteworthy features of the Redmi 12 include a 50-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear including an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The front has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Lastly, the device runs on Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin.
