MediaTek has quietly announced a new Dimensity processor in China. The latest chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra. It is in addition to the Dimensity 7200 that was introduced earlier this year. The SoC seems to be a slightly better version of the Dimensity 7200. The latest Dimensity 7200 Ultra is based on TSMC’s 4nm process. Read on to know more details about the chipset below. 

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra specifications

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra is an octa-core processor based on TSMC’s 4nm architecture. The setup comprises of two ARM Cortex A715 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and six Cortex A510 cores ticking at 2GHz. The chipset also features Mali-G610 GPU for graphics. It supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM. 

The Dimensity 7200 Ultra is compatible with up to 200MP cameras along with 4K video recording at 30 fps. It can support Full HD+ displays at a 144Hz refresh rate. The chipset also features a fifth-generation MediaTek APU 650 for AI processing. It supports 14-bit HDR image processing thanks to the Imagiq 765 ISP. 

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra is also 5G-compatible with support for dual 5G standby, VoNR, and carrier aggregation. It also has a HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine for variable rendering, intelligent control, and more. 

MediaTek has not revealed which devices will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra. However, the Xiaomi sub-brand announced on Weibo that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will be equipped with the said chipset. The device is confirmed to launch this month with a 200MP camera sensor.
