Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked some key details about Honor’s foldable V Purse smartphone. According to the tipster, the device is rumored to have a thickness and weight similar to traditional non-foldable smartphones. Although this is not new for Honor as the company previously launched Honor Magic V2 as the thinnest foldable yet.

The V Purse is said to have a large 2K display with a resolution of 2348×2016 pixels and a 35W fast charging feature. According to reports, the device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 778G chipset. Honor is maintaining its collaboration with Qualcomm for its chipset choice and is not currently opting for the Dimensity platform.

Following the V Purse, Honor is also preparing for the launch of the Honor Magic Vs2, perceived as a more affordable alternative to the Magic V2.

While Honor gave a sneak peek of the V Purse at the IFA 2023 keynote held on September 1st, the specifics remained under wraps. Zhao Ming, the CEO of Honor Terminal Co., Ltd., mentioned that the device has an impressive folded thickness of under 9mm. An interesting feature of the V Purse is its back screen, which remains operational and can display dynamic content even when the phone is folded. Furthermore, with the right add-ons, the device can mimic the appearance of a decorative “handbag.” According to Honor, they have developed a durable hinge that can withstand an impressive 400,000 folds.

The official launch of the Honor V Purse in the Chinese market is scheduled for September 19th at 19:00. During this event, more details, including configurations and pricing of this innovative foldable smartphone, are expected to be unveiled.
