Huawei is gearing up for its autumn product launch event on September 25th. The spotlight will likely shine on the Huawei Mate 60 series and the foldable Mate X5, which are already available for pre-order. Additionally, Huawei will introduce the MatePad Pro 13.2, which stands as the company’s largest-ever tablet. However, the company seems to have more in store.

Huawei Nova 12 will have 5G support

According to a report by CNMO, Huawei is also working on its next-generation Nova series, potentially named Nova 12. The series may launch as early as October or November. This mid-range 5G smartphone is anticipated to pack the Kirin 830 processor, possibly with some core adjustments inherited from the HiSilicon Kirin 9000S chip. Its pricing is expected to remain competitive, akin to its predecessor, the Nova 11.

Some tipsters speculate that the Nova 12 series could inherit some flagship-exclusive features, such as satellite phone capabilities and enhanced imaging functionalities, though these might be reserved for the Nova 12 Pro variant.

The Nova 12 Pro, in particular, is rumored to boast a 50MP variable aperture ultra-sensitive imaging system, accompanied by a 50MP telephoto lens supporting 100x zoom and a 12MP wide-angle macro dual-lens setup. It is said to house a 4900mAh battery and support 100W charging, as well as 50W reverse charging. Additionally, it’s expected to offer dual-mode Beidou satellite navigation.

As for pricing, it’s rumored that the Nova 12 series will come in at an attractive price point. The 12GB+256GB version is speculated to be priced at 2799 yuan ($384), while the Nova 12 Pro series, featuring 12GB+256GB, is expected to retail at 3799 yuan ($521).
