When it comes to taking pictures, Qualcomm has updated its Image Signal Processor (ISP) to work with Dolby HDR Photo Capture, improving the look of photos on screens that support HDR. Gamers will enjoy the support for 240 frames per second on 240 Hz screens and compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.2. The chip’s new Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU) is 25% faster and 25% more energy-efficient, with a 40% boost in Ray Tracing.

This chip is all about AI, with its AI Engine that can handle large language models for instant AI assistant responses. Music fans will be happy too, as it supports 24-bit 96kHz lossless music over Bluetooth.

Devices with this chip are expected to hit the market soon, thanks to partnerships with brands like Asus, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. The Xiaomi 14 series could be the first smartphone to launch with the new chip as the brand has confirmed an October 26 China launch. The iQOO 12 series and the Vivo X100 series will likely be the next in line.
