Automaker Stellantis is planning to release the Ram 1500 Ramcharger EV that comes with a gas-powered engine. The model will be the brand’s first electric pickup and will feature an onboard gas engine, as well as an electric generator. The Stellantis Ram 1500 Ramcharger was announced as part of the redesign of the Stellantis Ram 1500 gasoline-powered pickups.

Features

The Stellantis Ram 1500 Ramcharger is tailored after the Stellantis Ram Trucks. When the battery dies out, an electric onboard generator with a 3.6L V6 engine will provide power for the vehicle. The hybrid truck combines the excellent aspects of both electric and gasoline configurations to deliver an ultimate truck and game changer. The Stellantis Ram 1500 Ramcharger EV will enter the market next year alongside the all-electric Ram 1500 truck.

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger has an estimated range of 690 miles, of which about 145 miles is due to its 92kWh battery. The extended range is mainly due to the 130kW electric generator and the gas engine. The tank of the new model has a 27-gallon capacity and squares up well with the performance of the all-electric Ram 1500 REV or the Ram 1500 gasoline model.

Pricing

The pricing details of the Stellantis Ram 1500 Ramcharger EV are yet to be released. Stellantis hopes that the new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be a stop-gap solution for current all-electric EVs due to challenges of charging infrastructure and range anxiety. Its multiple range-extending features could stand out the Ram 1500 Ramcharger in a growing field of electric trucks in the market.
