After its launch in October, the Xiaomi 14 series has become a sensation in its domestic Chinese market, managing to sell around 1.5 million units in a relatively short amount of time. We expect the series to be quite popular in the global market as well. That being said, the brand has already started working on the next big thing, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra launch timeline leak

Like the Ultra models of the past, the 14 Ultra will also mainly bring camera improvements to the table. The rumored launch timeline, leaked online by tipster Fixed Focus Digital, points to April 2024. However, the post also suggests a slowdown in smartphone launches after mid-December in China, indicating a temporary lull in the industry.

In addition to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Huawei P70, and Vivo X100 Ultra flagship smartphones will also make their debut in March and April, respectively. Another interesting tidbit revealed by the leak suggests that the Vivo X100 Pro+ will be called the X100 Ultra instead. Unlike the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, the X100 Ultra is rumored to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, in place of the Dimensity 9300 on its siblings.

From a previous report, we know that both the Vivo X100 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will debut with a 1-inch primary camera sensor from Sony. While there are reports suggesting that the Huawei P70 could launch with in-house cameras.

A report from CNMO states that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will arrive with a beefed-up 5500mAh battery, a significant jump from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s 5000mAh.
