Just hours after bringing the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus Pad, the company is here with the Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 9R smartphones. The new update for both devices is limited to the first 5000 participants. It is available for Indian variants of the smartphones, and may soon expand to other countries.

It’s been more than a few months of waiting before the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 9R started receiving the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 update. However, there may be some bugs and issues as it is the “very first Open Beta build.” So, it is highly suggested only for the users who have prior experience and have another phone as their daily driver. Certain potential risks on the build may damage your data and affect the stable experience on the smartphone.

There are plenty of new features that everyone would like to enjoy on either the OnePlus 9R or OnePlus 8T smartphones before everyone else. The users can enjoy the new Smart and Efficient File Dock which lets you drag and drop content between apps and devices. It also improves system security and privacy. Steps to Apple and Install Open Beta on OnePLus 9R and OnePlus 8T

  • Make sure your device has at least 4GB RAM and 30% of battery left.
  • Then Check whether your OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 9R are running this firmware:
    • LE2101_13.1.0.583(EX01) – OnePlus 9R
    • KB2001_13.1.0.582(EX01) – OnePlus 8T

Steps:

  1. After fulfilling the above prerequisites, head over to the phone’s Settings > About device > Tap up to date > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Follow the steps to apply.
  2. Wait for a few days (3-5) for the Realme Team to approve your request, and then head to Settings > About device > Download Now.

These steps apply both to the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8T smartphones. However, the users will receive the Open Beta 2 after some time. It will take a month’s time before hitting the stable build.
