Chinese smartphone brands are currently on a streak of launching Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagship phones. The Realme GT 5 Pro featuring the said chip is scheduled to break cover on Dec. 7 in China. Today, Realme CMO Xu Qi confirmed the base configuration and display specifications of the device.

According to Xu Qi, the Realme GT 5 Pro’s base variant will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It can be said based on a recent report that this variant could be priced at 3,499 yuan (~$495).

The Realme GT 5 Pro was spotted in TENAA certification’s database recently. The listing revealed that the device has a 6.78-inch OLED curved-edge display that offers a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. The poster shared by Realme and its CMO has confirmed the other details about the GT 5 Pro’s BOE-supplied screen.

The GT 5 Pro’s TÜV-certified display features 8T LTPO technology, enabling an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 0.5Hz to 144Hz for smooth visuals. It supports Pro-XDR HDR technology, and it achieves a peak brightness of 4500 nits along with a global max brightness of 1600 nits. Additionally, the display incorporates advanced elements like 2160Hz PWM dimming, a 2160Hz touch sampling rate, DC dimming, and 20000 level dimming, contributing to an immersive visual experience.

The GT 5 Pro will come with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The device is expected to feature a 32-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (LYT-808, with OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (IMX890 periscope telephoto) triple camera unit. It will come with other features, such as a 12,000mm2 heat dissipation unit and Realme UI 5-based Android 14.
