Apple has long been rumored to be working on OLED iPad Pro models. Now, a fresh report from South Korea claims that production of the OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Pros has kicked off. Samsung Display and LG Display are expected to manufacture these OLED displays, so here are all the details.

Samsung Display starts production of iPad Pro’s OLED panel this week

The news was shared in a report from TheElec. In our previous report, we talked about how LG Display was expected to kick off OLED iPad Pro display production in February 2024. But the latest report from Korea claims that LG is already manufacturing OLED displays for the next gen Apple iPad Pro. It is reportedly making 13-inch displays (12.9-inch as per previous reports) while the 11-inch OLED panels could be coming to the production line soon as well.

For those unaware, the Cupertino based giant is working on two new iPad Air and two new OLED iPad Pro models in the second quarter of this year. LG isn’t the sole supplier of the OLED panels as Samsung Display is also expected to start OLED production for these iPad Pros later this week. The fresh report adds that LG Display will focus on 13-inch OLED panels, while Samsung Display will primarily make 11-inch variants.

Unfortunately, finer details regarding these iPads like their pricing are still at large. But based on what we know so far, the new iPad Pros will likely be equipped with the Apple M3 processor. This could result in a slight hike in price tag over its predecessor. New accessories may be offered as well, like a new Magic Keyboard and Pencil accessories. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more updates.
