This is a good time to be a Fujifilm fan! Rumors reported by FujiRumors on April 8th suggest the highly anticipated Fujifilm GFX100S II medium-format mirrorless camera will be available around May 20th, arriving within the next 6 weeks.
The camera will have a new 100 MP sensor and a 5th generation processor
The GFX100S II is positioned as the successor to the current GFX100S priced at $7,499 (around ¥54,293). It’s also rumored to be more affordable than the original GFX100 which launched at $9,999.
The GFX100S II is said to be “Fuji’s medium-format camera with the most powerful focusing performance in history.” It’s expected to boast a brand new 100-megapixel back-illuminated sensor and a powerful 5th-generation processor. This combination is expected to deliver a new generation of autofocus that can detect and identify animals, vehicles, and birds. Videographers will also be impressed with features like video touch tracking for autofocus, a waveform monitor for precise exposure control, and an anamorphic widescreen mode for capturing cinematic footage.
